This is an optional part of Outpost. Here you may tag with a list of your characters and state things which are
  • Always okay
  • Never okay
  • Provisionally okay
In addition, you may comment on listed characters and politely request certain ones avoid tagging one or more of yours.  Requests must be short, to the point, and neutrally worded.  The following format is suggested:

Please do not have (character name) tag (character name(s)/my characters).  Thank you.

Reasons do not need to be cited.  Requests with inflammatory wording will be deleted and you will be issued a warning.

Likewise, accept these requests gracefully as their purpose is to lessen drama and people getting accidentally offended by a character they dislike or are uncomfortable with.   It is not necessarily a personal reflection on you as a player.    You do not have to reply to acknowledge them as long as they are respected in the future.

outpostmods: (Default)
By joining Outpost you are agreeing to the following rules.

•You may not harass or threaten other members in any form while playing in Outpost. You may not use information you get in-game to harass people out of the game. If you are found to be doing this, you will be ejected immediately. Your grudgewank and prior drama with one another is irrelevant here, and we don't care who started it or who deserves it.

•You may not use any harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language when out of character. Any such language that is in character should be used with caution.

•You will always follow the instructions of the mods so long as those instructions are reasonable, and do not require breaking another of the rules. If you feel a mod has made an unfair request of you, please bring it to the mod team's attention as soon as possible and it will be addressed.

•You will not character squat. Character squatting is defined by us as picking up a character and not actively playing this character, doing the bare minimum to keep them on AC month after month (barring personal emergencies/illness/drama/RL business keeping you out of, or minimally involved with, the game that we have been made aware of).

•You will not trash-talk anyone on any community or subforum that is a part of Outpost. If you have a problem with someone that talking to them does not resolve, speak to the mods. If you want to catfight off-site, there's not a lot we can do about it. Just don't trail it back to our funbox, please.

•If you play two characters that have mutual CR, you are allowed to have them interact with one another. Do not abuse this privilege, do not make logs solely for yourself, do not app close castmates with the intention of playing them both yourself.

(You may link to an image here instead of writing a description.  For OCs, a link to a drawing is fine if you have one but it must either be your own original work or commissioned/gifted work of your own character and not something you found of somebody else's character on Deviantart.)
History:
(You may link to an offsite resource detailing your character's canon history, however we prefer that you also give us a summary in your own words.  If English is not your first language we will be flexible about the summary.   For OCs, please succinctly summarize what your character's life was like before arrival to the Outpost.)
Personality:
(This is the most important part of the app and ultimately determines whether or not your character will fit here.  Give as much detail as possible to show that you really have a handle on the characterYou do not need to provide us a novel if you feel your character can be summed up in two or three paragraphs, but we need more than a couple of lines.)

Sample post:
(This can be either in the form of actionspam or prose.  You may use the prompts below, or come up with your own.)

Suggestion prompts:
1) Upon walking into the cafeteria for the first time, your character is hit in the face with a plate of food.  There's a food fight going on!  Does your character jump in on the fun, flee to the safety of his/her dorm, or something else?
2) After having spent a long time at the facility, your character has just recovered enough memory to know that their current romantic partner in the Outpost is actually their worst enemy from before, but s/he has no memory of their rivalry him/herself.  Does your character tell him/her, or keep it a secret in hopes that his/her own memories don't return to keep the peace between each other?
3) Your character wakes up and it's a beautiful day, they're not in trouble, and they have all the resources of the Outpost to pick from.  The pool is looking especially inviting, and over in the courtyard there's a group of fellow patients playing a game of ball. What does your character decide to do?

[You wake up in a cold sweat in an unfamiliar room, blinded by fluorescent hospital lights as you open your eyes. You're so sore you can barely move, as there's a dull ache all over your body -- centered especially at the base of your spine. As your consciousness starts to return to you, you become acutely aware of a feverish itch spreading from your back and down your arms... oh, dear. Is that fur?

Your eyes must be playing tricks on you. Before you can investigate further, you notice that there's a folded letter sitting on the stand next to your hospital bed, addressed to you:]

Dear (name),

If you are reading this, congratulations!  You've survived the third stage of DOTES (Domestic Overwrite Trans-Evolutionary Spirii) and starting today, you will begin receiving treatment with lasting long-term effects.  If you've made it this far, your odds are pretty good, but your journey is far from over!

Welcome to the Outpost, an isolated care facility that has been dedicated to the study of strange and unusual maladies for over twenty years.  Formerly an official's summer home in decades past, it has been converted over the years into a medical clinic devoted to the study of the mysterious virus known only as 'DOTES.'  Little is known of the disease, only that it results in rather curious symptoms and is most often fatal in those who contract it.  However, since you're here, that means you are now being closely monitored to ensure your continued survival in these harsh and strange conditions.  Lucky you!

When you are feeling well enough to get up, the nurse's office is down the hall for an initial checkup.  When you are cleared from quarantine, you will then be assigned to a dormitory.  Your belongings have already been unpacked and put away for you, as well as some extra gifts so that you may have all the comforts you would have at home and then some.  You will also find a disc on the dresser containing information on your life before the infection, as memory loss is a tragically common side effect of the disease.  Do pay close attention when playing it though, due to data restraints it can only be played once as we'd rather be putting forth our resources to curing the disease.

Please be assured that we will try to make your stay here will be a comfortable one with all amenities provided until you are given a completely clean bill of health and ready to be released back into the world at large.  Our staff is here to help you and make you feel at home until it's time to go back to your real home (after all, your family must miss you!).  In your room is a whiteboard and a catalog where you may write down requests for any of your material needs, and we will happily provide you with them within 24 hours.

You may have already noticed the collar around your neck.  It has been custom-fitted for your maximum comfort; this is actually a sophisticated piece of technology designed to monitor your vitals without inhibiting movement as other monitoring hardware might do.  Since this is meant to be a non-invasive way for the medical team to keep track of your health, it is not to be removed.  The collar also has a simple tracking device embedded within, so that we are able to find and retrieve you in case of a serious medical emergency.  Again, it is for your health and longevity that we do this.

Oh, and pay no mind to that pain in your tailbone.  It'll sort itself out over the next few days, and you'll be used to it in no time.  Also, be aware that you may experience slight temperamental shifts as your body adjusts to its new additions.  This, too, will be something you will get used to soon enough.  Do not be alarmed.

OOC
Outpost 209 is an adults-only RPG with strong sexual and body horror themes that takes place in modern-day Siberia, in a secluded area deep in the vast temperate forest in the southern part of the region.  Characters wake up in an ambiguous holding area, unsure of where they were last -- in fact, their entire memory has been wiped upon entry to the facility.  After an initial checkup for any other pressing symptoms, they are then assigned a dorm room and given a laptop and a few changes of clothes, as well as ample time to adjust to their new changes before the next checkup.

Through DOTES, characters are being slowly transformed into animals, and with it comes the strong psychological drives that animals have.  The strongest, of course, is the drive to mate, claim territory, and fight for your right to do so.  The degree of physical changes varies from person to person, as one person might only have the minimal animalistic symptoms (the ears and tail) and stop there, whereas another patient might react more strongly to the virus and develop even more changes than usual (additions such as claws, sharp teeth, patches of fur, or paws).  The most dramatic changes may be gradual and take some time (such as growing a full tail or a coat of fur), while some come in sudden, painful bursts.  It's an awkward transition, and your character must struggle to maintain the increasingly fragile balance between their human selves and the animal they're being transformed into.  The patients have no control over how their bodies are going to change, or what will happen next... and skipping your daily doses of medication could have deadly results.

One thing is for sure though, nobody may leave the Outpost once they've been checked in, and that there seems to be no direct interaction with the staff of the facility, much less the names of those involved...

The hospital was once a manor, but now serving as an asylum  (who it belonged to, the Researchers remain mum on).   While it maintains it's regal structure and museum-like appearance in many ways, it has been altered to adequately house patients undergoing a volatile transformation.  Some of the picture windows have bars on them, and beneath the polished wood paneling, steel reinforcements can be found.

Among the various points of interest in it are:

Dorm Rooms
Dorms are located on the second floor of the estate, to the left of the top of the main staircase.   Each dorm can comfortably accommodate up to two people and may be personalized as the inhabitants like. Maintenance will be done as needed on room fixtures, unless it becomes apparent that the room's owner is intentionally breaking things, and then they may be removed permanently as punishment rather than replaced/repaired.

FEATURES:

Kitchen Nook - sink, cupboard, countertop refrigerator, hotplate
Bookcase
Writing Desk
Dresser w/ Mirror
Baseboard Heating
Ceiling Fan
Space for up to two beds

WHITEBOARD  -  The whiteboard serves as a means for inhabitants to communicate their needs or desires to the researchers.   Every room is outfitted with a small dry-erase board in the kitchen nook and a marker suspended from a chain.    If a resident has a request for their room, it can be written on the board and it will most usually be delivered within 24 hours.   As the Researchers want their subjects to remain comfortable and cooperative, they will fulfill most (reasonable) requests.    If you ask them to bring you an apple pie,  a bottle of booze, or satin bedsheets, you will probably get them.    If you ask them for a loaded gun or illegal drugs, you will most likely get a sarcastic response like a filled squirtgun, or a box of candy cigarettes.

Unless you ask for something inconsequential and low-maintenance like hermit crabs or sea monkeys, chances are that whiteboard requests for pets will not be honored initially unless you prove yourself to be stable and responsible.   The researchers will then allow you to have one small pet like a cat, a chinchilla, or a canary.   If you and another resident want to collaberate on upkeeping a fishtank, this is also a possibility.   You probably won't get that rottweiller or pony you want, sorry.

The whiteboards are for requests only, and the Researchers will not respond to anything else written on them.  Questions, pleas for help, demands, will all be erased without a word the next time your character is out of their room.

Kitchen
The facility has a well-equipped kitchen for residents to employ.   Knives and other potentially-dangerous utensils, however, are kept locked up and require permission to make use of.    There is nothing too involved in the process, however.   If the researchers monitoring the kitchen see you setting up to cook, and trying the knife cabinet, a quick reference check will be done.  If you have a clean behavioral record, it will unlock for you.  If you don't, well...hope you're good at chopping your vegetables by hand.

As this is the kitchen used to prepare food for the cafeteria, it can comfortably accommodate up to four people cooking at once.

In here can be found -

Refrigerator - kept stocked with vegetables, cheese, milk, eggs and various other perishables.
Meat Freezer -  Chicken cuts, steaks, ribs, pork loins, and other common cuts of meat used for cooking can be found here.  Seafood is special request only.
Pantry - pasta, grains, sugar, flour, corn starch, and other dry-storage cooking necessities are here

Dining Hall
Three meals are offered daily in the dining hall of the facility for those who want to eat in a social setting, or can't be bothered to use the whiteboard to make personal meal requests.    This room seats 50 with one long "main" table and two smaller offshoot tables.  For those who prefer to dine alone, there are a few armchairs positioned against the walls by their lonesome.

Breakfast is served from 7 am until 9 am
Lunch from 11 am until 1 pm
Dinner from 5 pm until 7 pm

The food served here is standard mass-quantity cafeteria chow, and nothing too special, but better than going hungry.   Burgers, salads, sandwiches, cereal, fruit, soup, and tacos are common menu favorites.   On holidays, the meals will be more extravagant and subjects may be encouraged to gather in the dining hall to eat.

Nurse's Office
The volunteer nurse staff has access to a small sterile examination room where first aid can be administered and mild illnesses can be diagnosed.   If you're prowling for strong drugs or scalpels, you're not going to find any in here, sadly.   It is outfitted with standard first aid kit necessities, a reclining examination chair, and instruments to perform a physical.

The Grounds
The grounds consist of five smaller gardens and one large garden with a hedge maze labyrinth, a gardener's shack, servant's quarters, a pool house, pool, and hot tub.  Inhabitants have access to all of the buildings.

Servant's Quarters
The servant's quarters are a pared-down version of the rooms in the clinic.  Inhabitants may choose to move into the servant's quarters if they wish to, but they will be missing many of the perks; such as the desk, bookcase, and kitchen nook.

In a storage room in the servant's quarters there is additional outdoors equipment such as a volleyball net and ball, tennis rackets, etc.

Gardener's Shack
In the gardener's shack inhabitants have access to gloves, seeds, and rakes.  Much like with the sharp tools in the kitchen, the tools in the shed will only be available to those with no history of violence.  Any of the gardens has space for additional plantings and there is a wide variety of seeds, ranging from flowers to food, for any inhabitant who wishes to add their own garden.

Pool House, etc.

The pool house has some swimsuits already modified for tails that can be used communally, changing rooms and showers for both males and females, pool toys, and plenty of towels.  There is a diving board at the deep end of the pool.  The water is heated enough that it is still comfortable in winter, although as it is an outdoor pool getting out of the pool in winter would be rough.  There is a hot tub near the pool and pool house.  It is big enough to hold eight people comfortably at a time.

Beyond the Grounds
Although the grounds proper are fenced off by an antiquated-looking iron fence, past the black metal spikes is a vast expanse of dense, Siberian forest.  It seems to be almost pristine, but conspicuously absent of any apex predators one would expect to find in the Russian wilderness such as bears or wolves -- and as such, is abundant with prey animals such as rabbits, mice, and smaller predators such as the occasional lynx or fishing cat.  A small stream cuts through the woods as a source of clean water and plentiful fish.  There are a few footpaths around the forest forged by roaming deer and wild boars, but nothing obviously traveled by humans.  Even the dirt road leading out from the facility's front gate seems to disappear into the trees with no obvious way out, eventually becoming overgrown with vegetation.  The forest is huge and easy to get lost in, and should a subject make it to the edge of the forest they will find themselves staring down a tall, high-voltage electric fence along the perimeter, topped off with razor-sharp barbed wire should anyone bravely try to ascend the fence and live.  In addition, there is a chain-link metal fence buried beneath, so nobody may attempt to burrow out from under it in attempt to avoid getting shocked during an escape.

Throughout the forest are well-disguised motion-activated cameras, usually tucked away up in trees and other inconspicuous places simply to keep a watchful eye on things should a patient go for a walk in the woods. Also hidden in the forest are a number of old, abandoned buildings, architecture dating all the way back to the beginning of the Soviet era until the mid-1980s -- all covered with vines and being reclaimed by the forest, but should one be brave enough to pull the greenery back, they'll discover faded numbers painted on the front of each building.  Although the doors are locked and windows boarded up with rotting wood, a persistent person may be able to easily break in and have a look inside before the surveillance guards take notice (note: contact a mod if you'd like your character to trespass in one of these buildings).

The Virus
So what the hell is DOTES, anyway?
DOTES is a man-made virus engineered in a laboratory, designed to reconfigure a subject's DNA sequencing in order to create human-animal hybrid soldiers for superiority in combat.  It's still in its developing stages and far from perfected, obviously, since most patients infused with the virus die in the earlier stages.  Those hardy enough to make it through stage 3 end up at the outpost, where their progress will be monitored.  Although originally intended to only give people the enhanced features of the animals they are injected with (such as a better sense of smell, hearing, and night vision), the virus instead results in more unwanted physical aspects as well -- most commonly, furry ears and the start of a tail.  Other mutations may happen over time, but only time may tell what happens next.

Can I bring in a character suffering from DOTES at an earlier stage than post-3?
No.  Subjects suffering earlier stages of the virus are kept quarantined and are observed very closely in the Researchers' laboratories to ensure survival.   Only after they've made it through stage 3 will they be considered viable for further research.   You don't really want your character wandering around in an asylum of animal-infused miscreants while they're unremittingly ill anyway, do you?

So the virus is terminal. Is my character going to die?
It's assumed everyone in the hospital will die eventually if a more effective way of treating it is not eventually found. Without their daily medicine, the descent into madness will be steady and happen over the course of a few weeks. However, the staff is very vigilant in making sure everyone receives their treatments, whether they want them or not. These injections keep certain aspects of the virus neutralized and allow them to live for years.

What if I want my character to suffer madness and die?
That is entirely your decision. But please run your plans by the mod team first....especially if you're planning on a rampage that needs drastic measures to be stopped. Most usually, though, your character will be tranquilized, strapped to a gurney, wheeled off, and never seen again.

Am I limited to my character being infused with cat or dog DNA when they arrive?
Yes. The two strains of DOTES virus are infused with domestic cat or dog DNA respectively. The researchers' interests are in keeping their test subjects compliant and loyal to the cause, and they deemed infusing them with the behavior and dependency of household pets to be the best way of going about this. Depending on which you were infected by, will determine which you become (you can choose one or the other, but not both).

Can I choose the kind of dog or cat my character starts out as?
Yes.  In fact, feel free.  In some cases the dog or cat chosen will accurately reflect your character's personality, but not always.  A lot of the time the animal's specific personality doesn't turn up at all, aside from making your character more compliant than they'd be ordinarily.

I would like my character to become infused with a different kind of animal. How do I go about this?
After your character has been under observation in the clinic for a month or so and has adjusted well to the end of stage 3, they will become a candidate for further research. Each month, new traits and selections will be offered and those that qualify and are interested can apply to be "abducted". You will be gone from the facility for three days, no one will be able to reach you, and when you return you will be kept for 24 hours' observation in a containment cell to ensure that you are not a danger to yourself or others before you are released back among the residents.

What's with the mating urge?  Will it negatively impact my character not to succumb?
The mating urge is an unintended side effect of the virus.  In enhancing the animalistic features of the human body, it also enhances the reptilian portion of the brain that demands basic 4F survival needs be met.   As such, hormones are working overtime and your character will go through spurts of being achingly aroused.   However, no one is forcing them to obey their urges.   If they can and would like to abstain, they're welcome to....it's just a proven fact that a lot of people and a lot of sexual tension in a confined space often leads to bad decisions.

With all this sex going on, can/will my character get pregnant?
No.  Test subjects are rendered sterile by the virus, and thus nobody can get pregnant.

What about STIs?
Every subject admitted to the research experiment has a clean bill of health and their health is monitored carefully.  Infections are dealt with as soon as they arise, not giving them time to become a problem.

The Setting
What's the deal with the collars?  Can you tell me more about them?
All characters are fitted with a collar upon arrival.  These are not your ordinary pet collars, however, since these are in fact advanced pieces of technology.  They are constructed of hollow titanium with two small holes in the back where needles emerge from inside the collar, as every collar is loaded with rounds of tranquilizers and emergency system-shock injections of the DOTES medication should a patient skip a dose.  Standard collars are a matte black with a small silver plate on the front with the character's patient ID number engraved into it, but it's possible to order customized sleeves for a collar if your character absolutely can't live without their collar being hot pink and embedded with rhinestones.  However, certain colors and modifications are reserved for as a means of identifying "problem patients."

What are the "problem patient" colors?
The "problem patient" collars are intended to warn others, as well as a way for staff to pay extra attention to a certain patient.  Most notably, those with violent tendencies are outfitted with a striking red collar, those that have attempted escape are given a neon orange collar for easy spotting, and patients with more 'predatory' attitudes towards their fellow residents are given bells so that they may not be able to sneak up on people.

Any other collar colors to take note of?
Characters with white collars are volunteer nurses, and gray collars indicate characters with more labor-oriented jobs such as gardener or groundskeeper.

Can my character remove his/her collar?
No, they are quite solidly locked and require a specially-calibrated electronic key to remove.  If a character orders a custom collar, they will be put under a sedative while the custom collar sleeve is put on.

What if my character wants to escape?
Should your character be enterprising enough to find a way past the electric fence at the edge of the forest, they won't find much beyond the sparse Siberian grassland.  However, this will have negative repercussions for everyone because the facility will become locked down for the duration of your character's period of freedom.  What this means is that there will be no whiteboard deliveries and nobody being allowed to leave the main dormitory building until the escapee is captured and returned to the facility.  First offenders are marked with a neon orange collar, and repeat offenders may be given an ear tag.  Contact a moderator if you want to do this.

You mentioned jobs earlier -- does that mean there are jobs available for my character?  What are the benefits of working?
Yes!  If your character so desires, there are various jobs around the facility that they can do.  With a good track record for behavior, characters are rewarded with an opportunity for a job at the facility such as becoming a volunteer nurse, garden work, groundskeeping, being a lifeguard at the pool, serving at the dining hall, cleaning work, building maintenance, and anything else the staff may come up with.  Those employed by the Outpost will be given their own room, access to a special employee lounge, and extra perks and rewards added to whiteboard requests (an expensive article of clothing, a video game console, etc).  Longtime workers will be given special tags for their collars as a reward for their diligence.

The welcome letter mentioned my character's personal belongings being in their room.  What things are they allowed to bring?
For the most part, your character may arrive with anything could fit in an adequately-sized suitcase from his or her home, held in a storage unit until they are conscious and ready to be moved into a room.  Obvious things such as weapons and illegal drugs will not follow their owners to the Outpost, but if your character had any movie DVDs or video game systems they already owned prior to arrival they will be waiting for them in their dorm room, already hooked up.  However, mementos such as home videos, photographs, and diaries are conspicuously absent from the possessions that get carried over.

So what exactly is on that DVD everyone gets on arrival, anyway?  What happens to it after you play it?

TBA

How does language work here?  Since the Outpost is in Russia, will characters have to work around a language barrier to communicate with staff or something?  What if my character doesn't speak English in their canon, will s/he have trouble communicating with others at the facility?
TBA but everyone more or less speaks the same language.

How often can I change my character's DOTES animal?
While we offer new animals every month it is suggested that you consider carefully what kind of animal you want and wait for that animal to come up, letting the mods know what you want will make it come up sooner.  This doesn't mean that you can't play with a couple of types, but you should approach each one as though it will be permanent.

What if my animal choice just isn't working for me?
If you've had a character stay in one animal for a period of more than four months, real-time, with advancing DOTES symptoms and it simply doesn't work for you any more you may petition the mods to have your character set back to their initial DOTES animal (domestic dog or domestic cat) as though they had just woken up.  This will cause the character major health problems for a period of no less than two months, real time.  Subjects may end up in wheelchairs, on an all-liquid diets, be prone to illnesses such as colds and the flu, etc.  During that two month recovery the character cannot have any evolution or any new transformations.  Additionally the next transformation that the character has away from domestic dog or cat will be permanent.

Applications and Activity
How many characters can I have?
You may apply for two characters. On a case by case basis based on activity we will consider additional characters up to a hard maximum of five characters.

What is the activity check?
Once a month the mods will post an entry that gives a general status of the clinic as a whole and offers upgrades (or downgrades) to the body modifications that characters are going through. Each character needs to reply to that entry with their own monthly status constituting of a paragraph of what they've been up to for the month.   Smaller events listed in the AC don't need to be RPed out and can be handwaved, but any major events (transformations, deaths, altercations with the staff) must be backed by some sort of proof they occurred.

If you wish to apply for an upgrade, you must have at least one thread with more than ten responses in it from you

What kinds of characters may I apply for?
All characters must conform to the following criteria:
• Physically over the age of 18
• Mentally over the age of 18
• Humanoid
• Childlike characters will be considered on a case-by-case basis but are discouraged.

What if I want to play a character that is not human, such as a Homestuck troll, a pony, or a Protoss? Can they be brought to the Outpost?
Although this is looked at on a case-by-case basis, nonhuman characters can be applied for. When they arrive into the Outpost, they are turned into a human with their memories of being a different species wiped (the virus is unlikely to work on nonhuman subjects, and it would be rather silly and pointless to turn a character that is already an animal... into an animal).  These characters may have a harder time adapting to being human than those already human, such as walking on two legs (for a character that used to be a quadruped) or seemingly basic biological functions such as eating and drinking, as well as just about everything being new and unfamiliar to them for reasons they can't explain.  However, the character MUST be sentient, adult, and capable of communication with others.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

I play an AU adult version of a canon underage character in another game.  Could I app them?
Canon AUs, like OCs, will be approved on a case-by-case basis.    If it's clear you've devoted some real time and effort to developing your adult AUs history and personality with proper respect to the canon version's, you will be allowed in.   Canon AU also goes for characters that do not have enough development in-canon to properly write them an app.    If you think you can present a compelling enough representation of the character in question with the tidbits you've been given to work with, you are invited to try.

If a character already exists in-game, can I app another version of them?
With some exceptions, the answer will be no unless the other version of them is vastly different and canon.  (ie - Shadow Link versus Regular Link,   Human Battler versus Gamemaster Battler,  Bakura Ryou versus Yami Bakura, etc.)

Can I 'age-up' an underage character?
If they are very close to the 18-year-old cut-off both mentally and physically, yes.  The lowest we are comfortable going is 16.   It is not unheard of for some people to be unconscious after surviving stage three of the virus for a longer time than others...therefore we will say your character has undergone a period of failure to thrive and has been in a coma for two years before being released into the hospital at which point they will now be 18.

If your character is a "very mature 13 year old" then sorry, but the answer is no.

Can I play an OC?
Original characters will be approved on a case-by-case basis as second or later characters. Original characters should be of moderate to low power levels and with absolutely no connection to canon characters.

Game Play
Is RPing sex mandatory in this game?

No.  Not at all.   If you're okay with eavesdropping on it but don't want to personally RP it, nobody's going to tell you that you have to.  You can handwave the fact your character has been "taking matters into their own hands" to deal with the unstable hormone surges, or fade-to-black on scenes that are getting steamy, or if your character has a higher constitution, just say they've been neglecting it entirely.

However, all threads containing smut must be LOCKED to the community it's posted to, put under a cut, and tagged appropriately.   Please see below on tagging guidelines.

What tags do I need to use?
You need to tag your posts with the characters involved and trigger warnings if applicable.  Please mark triggers clearly, so those wishing to avoid offending subject matter can scroll past. The tagging format is as follows:
[series] firstname lastname (ie, "[persona 4] souji seta") ; if applicable: !!trigger: subject (ie, "!!trigger: abuse").

What if I forget to use tags?
If we have to go in and tag your post we will give you a friendly reminder the first two times. On the third time you'll get a warning. Three warnings in a six month period will result in your being invited to leave, that's nine times in six months that we have to tag your post for you. We take tags very seriously for the comfort of all our players.

What are the posting formats?
In the main community the usual posts are socialization posts for people to mingle, text-based via the character's laptops, or the occasional video. For characters intent on it, a PA system also exists and may be co-opted for use. In the logs community posts are more likely to be one-on-one and paragraph prose form rather than *action* form.  Ficlets can be posted in the main community, marked [SOLO].

Can my character come in with their original powers?
As every character starts out with no memory their powers are likewise not accessible. Over the course of play we'll discuss which powers are going to come back. God-level powers will never be accessed in game and other high-level powers will be nerfed or disallowed depending.

I play a character that's inclined towards rape/a character infused with an animal that has tendencies to rape in the wild, what's the etiquette?
Out of character consent is needed for all smut regardless of it's in character status. You must acquire consent before any form of rape, without exception, AND TAG THE POST APPROPRIATELY. If you do not, you will receive a warning. This is serious business to us.

I am having a problem with someone else, what do?
First, talk to the other person. We want you to work out as much as you can on your own.
If that doesn't work out then contact us with the following:
• Who is involved
• What the problem is
• What you've tried to do to fix the problem
The exception to this is if someone is if someone is consistently making you uncomfortable or is obviously being a deliberate jerk.
